Brooklyn Internets T-Shirt fullscreen

Remembering Aaron Swartz

The internet makes us smile. Thanks in no small part to the efforts of Aaron Swartz. I designed some t-shirts with the principles that he fought for. In that spirit I hope it makes you smile and reminds you and others that we are working for an open and intellectual world where individuals are empowered and society stands up for the little guy.

Aaron Swartz

As for me, I never thought I’d be making shirts, but isn’t the internet for discovering new things? Working with him here in NYC for the past few months has been inspiring. It was nice to have the chance to brainstorm and strategize on how to improve the lives of people around the world with tech. I’m
deeply upset by what happened. He devoted his life to making the world a better place and he was one of the best people I knew who was doing just that. These shirts are a small token of my
appreciation of him. To learn more about our work, visit http://markbelinsky.com/crowdring/ and http://www.therules.org/. To learn more about him, visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Swartz.

If you like any of these shirts, please considering buying one. They’re a tribute to his time spent calling both Brooklyn and Boston home. And remember that all proceeds go towards the causes that Aaron held dear. http://bit.ly/aaronswstore

Swartz’s family invites those who knew him or whose lives were touched by his work in some way to visit his memorial website at rememberaaronsw.com and leave a remembrance or photo. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution in Aaron’s name can do so via GiveWell. There’s also an open repository on GitHub. National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255
