It was my pleasure to be invited speak with Humanity In Action‘s  2009 Summer Fellows. The organization does great work engaging student leaders in the study and work of human rights. I was there to talk to them about the Open My City project and get them excited enough about the idea to volunteer in support of it.

Barcamp Yerevan

I’m always excited to go back to Armenia, my old stomping grounds. Not only did I get the chance to explore new bars with old friends, this time I was coming for Barcamp Yerevan.

Circumvening censorship in Istanbul (once Constantinople)

Is Turkey on the verge of becoming a part of Europe? It’s a question worth considering and certainly one that was tangentially related to my conversations in Amsterdam. I was hired by a client to do a training there on technology for bloggers, artists, and activists working under difficult circumstances in a variety of countries. It was my pleasure to explore Istanbul and for such a noble cause.
